Last week, I had the honor to welcome Sir Lewis Hamilton and show him our IWC Schaffhausen flagship boutique in Amsterdam. As we celebrate a decade of partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, we proudly hosted seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton during the Dutch Grand Prix™ week. What happens when art and engineering meet? Living in Amsterdam, I discovered playful street art installations all around the city, and I started to collect pictures of them. And, one day, I had the chance to randomly meet their creator, STREETART FRANKEY!A couple of conversations about design and watchmaking later, I shared with Frankey some pictures of our upcoming IWC Flagship boutique on P.C. Hoofstraat, asking if he would like to work on something for our facade… like “A little help by Frankey” ? And just like that our collaboration started!A self-portrait bronze figure, carefully sculpted down to the smallest detail from the texture in the beanie and facial expression. But we did not stop there, and gave the mission to the IWC apprentice watchmakers in Schaffhausen to complement the statue with the world’s smallest IWC watch – a Big Pilot Spitfire 43 in bronze (measuring 10 millimeters) ! I invite you to see the result on P.C. Hoofstraat 132-134, and start exploring the 500+ other creations of Frankey around the world, it will make you smile!

Very proud to have introduced the IWC Perpetual studio in Denmark.Following its release at Watches and Wonders in April in Geneva, we exceptionally opened the doors of the Ordrupgaard Museum in Copenhagen to welcome the newly launched IWC Portugieser collection, A Tribute to Eternity.We welcomed our esteemed guests and friends of the brand in the iconic wing extension designed by Zaha Hadid Architects where past, present and future meet. A perfect showcase to display our new range of Portugieser references, with the IWC Eternal calendar as a special highlight, including a 45 million year moon-phase accuracy and calendar set up until the year 3999, explained by our master watchmaker.Danish chef Brian Mondrup designed a unique menu following the new Pantone colors of the Portugieser range, from Silver Moon to Horizon Blue, Dune, and Obsidian Black.
